Le Crozets: the region's "must-try" dish
It's impossible to envisage a stay in this region without tasting Le Crozets, an unmissable dish, as much by its history as by its uniqueness. Invented by the ladies of Mont-de-Lans at the end of the 19th century, following a period of extreme cold and a shortage of wheat, Crozets are pasta cut into small squares and made from crushed potatoes mixed with milk and eggs. Accompanied by cheese and bacon, this "poor man's dish" has become an iconic regional dish.
