Châtel is a charming village resort, situated at 1200m altitude and just a short stroll from the Swiss border.
With its lively shopping village atmosphere and preserved mountain architecture, including wooden chalets, pastures, and forests…Châtel has many charms. No imposing buildings here, but rather small residences and chalets that blend in perfectly with the surrounding countryside.
Châtel’s ski-area stretches from 1100m to 2400m in altitude and includes 49 slopes covering a length of 83km. It is connected to the Portes du Soleil ski-area (650km of slopes) as well as to the Swiss resorts of Morgins and Torgon. It offers wide open views of the Dents du Midi and Mont Blanc on one side, and Switzerland and Lake Léman on the other.
